Starting with the most basic principles governing planetary temperature and building to more complicated and accurate models of the Earth’s climate, Professor David Archer’s massive open online course “Global Warming: The Science and Modeling of Climate Change” returns to Coursera for its third session on September 29, 2014.
Bringing together insights from physics, chemistry, biology, earth and atmospheric sciences, and even some economics, the course geared to non-scientists, but allows them to work with real climate data in simulations of climate change over time. This eight week class has been improved with feedback from students in the first two sessions and now offers multiple tracks through the material — one more quantitative and one more conceptual.
