Learn about Chalk’s New Global Navigation!

Image of Chalk Chalk was updated on September 6th, so you may have already noticed some of the new features. One new feature that will be especially useful to all Chalk users is Global Navigation which allows quick access to recently viewed courses, discussion posts, my grades (student only), updated material, and a global calendar.  You can learn more about Global Navigation by watching this short (2 min.) video.

Highlights of the updates:

  • New Content Editor: the new content editor improves the user experience for adding text, equations, and digital content.
  • Calendar: instructors and students can view personal, course, and system-wide events in a single calendar view.  External calendars can subscribe to events created on the Blackboard Learn calendar through an iCalendar feed.
  • Discussions: a more modern discussion interface that displays all posts and options on a single page, allows inline posting, clearly identifies the role of the poster, and can require students to post before participating.
  • Several New Assessment Features Including: Assessment Item Analysis - provides statistics on overall tests and individual test questions; Test Access Logs - allows instructors to verify test activity, Enhanced Test Options - offers flexibilty for due dates and time of test;  Enhanced Assessment Questions - allows  pattern matching so instructors do not need to rely on "exact match" and more.

Here's a handy quick reference guide (PDF). You can also find documentation online.
