IT Services is pleased to announce that Lynn Barnett has been selected as the new Executive Director for Academic Technology Solutions (ATS). Lynn began her new role on June 20, 2022, following a brief period as interim Executive Director. She oversees the Center for Digital Accessibility, the ATS Technical Team, the Learning Design Team, and the AV Services Team.
In her previous role as Director of Educational Technology Solutions, Lynn oversaw the transition from Blackboard/Chalk to the Canvas LMS and led operations for the learning management system and related software. She also oversaw the AV Services group’s support of campus classroom technology, AV standards, AV consultation, and digital signage. She previously worked as the Director of the Academic Information System (AIS) Project Management Office from July 2014 through December 2016. In this role, she led the implementation project to replace the former academic information system with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Prior to leading the AIS project, she worked with the Web Services group for 11 years in various roles, ending her term there as the assistant director.
Lynn is an alumna of the College at UChicago, from which she holds an AB in Biological Sciences. She also holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Under her aegis, ATS plans to cultivate deeper working relationships with the broader University community, promote the thoughtful and innovative use of technology in the classroom, and continue responding to the needs of faculty, students, and staff at the intersection of technology and pedagogy.
