Lynn Barnett - Interim Executive Director

Lynn Barnett, Interim Executive DirectorLynn joined the ATS team in January 2017 as Interim Executive Director. In this role, she will oversee the ATS department staff, operational and capital budgets, and major projects while the search for a permenant Executive Director takes place. Her main focus will be on the campus-wide transition from Chalk (Blackboard) to the Canvas learning management system.

Prior to her engagement with ATS, Lynn held the role of Director of the Academic Information System (AIS) Project Management Office from July 2014 through December 2016. In this role, she lead the implementation project to replace the former academic information system with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Throughout the AIS Project she worked closely with the University Registrar, Executive Director for Financial Aid, Bursar's Office, and other stakeholders across campus. She was responsible for staffing and managing the AIS PMO, and she worked closely with the external integration partner throughout the project to monitor resources, timeline, scope, and budget. The project hit all major milestones during the phased rollout from November 2015 through October 2016, with the campus fully on the new system for the autumn 2016 quarter.

After graduating from the University of Chicago with an AB in Biological Sciences, Lynn began her professional career as a Research Associate in molecular evolution at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After switching career tracks, Lynn also recieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a concentration in Visual Communication. Through her work in ITS Web Services starting in 2003, Lynn gained experience in web design, interaction design, and project management.  She then became Manager for Front-end Development, and was the Assistant Director for Web Services before moving to the AIS project in 2014.
