Access Course-Specific Software

Access analytical software packages--such as Matlab, SPSS, Stata, Mathematica, and ArcView GIS--for your homework or thesis project via our virtual software lab. For more information, see our documentation.

You may also want to check the Site Licensed Software for Students page to see what software packages can be obtained for free or reduced cost.

Borrow Digital Media Equipment

Students can borrow cameras, projectors, audio recorders, microphones, and projection screens via the IT Services TECHB@R.

Access On-Demand Software Training via Lynda.com

Students can access over 4000 online training courses provided by Lynda.com. Course topics range from Excel Basics, R Statistics, SPSS, Tableau, to Adobe Photoshop and 3D modeling.  Access with your CNetID at lynda.uchicago.edu.

Get Course Website and Technical Support

Students can call 773-702-5800 (7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; interim hours 8:30a.m.-5:00 p.m.; closed on university holidays) for general technical questions. Answers to common IT support questions can also be accessed at: itservices.uchicago.edu/support.

Convenient walk-up technology support, equipment lending, conferencing spaces, and videoconferencing capabilities is available at the IT Services TECHB@R, located on the first floor of the Joseph Regenstein Library.

Canvas Support

Support for using Canvas is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week with the Canvas Support line and live chat (through the help menu when logged in): 844-334-6803.
