ATS is offering several workshops and mini-workshops in Week 7 that can help you to become more comfortable with Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, and other technologies for remote teaching.

Mini-Workshops and Informational Videos

Scheduling Office Hours in Canvas: Would you like to use Canvas to schedule office hours for your students? Then come to this 30-minute mini-workshop. You will learn how to use Appointment Groups in the Canvas Calendar to schedule blocks of time for office hours so that individual students can sign up to meet with you at a designated time. Specifically, you will learn how to create Appointment Groups; how to edit Appointment Groups; how to message students through Appointment Groups; and how to check your notifications to see students who have signed up. This session is open to all faculty, instructors, teaching assistants, and staff who manage Canvas courses. Sessions:

Zoom Breakout Rooms: This 30-minute mini-workshop will address breakout room features including: pre-assigning students to breakout rooms, creating on-the-fly breakout rooms, recording breakout rooms, and broadcasting to and visiting breakout rooms. Sessions:

Using Screen Share and Annotations for Virtual Board Work: This 30-minute mini-workshop will address screen share and annotation features including: sharing with multiple screens, whiteboard, digital annotations, and annotating on a tablet. Sessions:

Managing Student Interactions in Zoom: Would you like to know how to engage with students efficiently and effectively in a remote teaching environment?  Then join us for this 30 minute session.  You will learn how to use Zoom features such as non-verbal feedback, chatbox, and how to organize lessons to best support student interactions and questions.  Sessions:
