In order to promote digital accessibility at UChicago, Academic Technology Solutions (ATS) is offering a rich array of workshops on different topics pertaining to accessibility and digital pedagogy. Accessibility in Teaching: Effective Practices is an hour-long workshop which will introduce you to the accessibility features in various teaching technologies. The workshop will also review how to effectively incorporate these features in different types of course materials. Effective Practices will cover Canvas, PDFs, Zoom, and Panopto. Easy Ways to Strengthen your Course Accessibility is an hour-long workshop which will present advanced ways to integrate accessibility tools and features with various teaching technologies. It will review five ways to strengthen your course using different accessibility strategies. Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss their own strategies with the presenters and their colleagues. Register for this workshop using the links below:

Using the Accessibility Checker in Word and Powerpoint is a 45 minute-long workshop where you can learn how to build accessible documents with the applications you’re already using every day. In this session you’ll see how Microsoft’s built-in accessibility checkers can help you create inclusive content in Word and PowerPoint. Presented by Emily Baker, Accessible Technology Specialist. These sessions are open to all faculty, instructors, teaching assistants, and staff who teach or support teaching and learning. They are conducted online via Zoom, and all workshops are recorded. The recordings will be shared with all registrants afterward.
