Gradescope is a software tool that can significantly streamline the grading process for handwritten work. With Gradescope, you can create a living rubric and use it to assess student work, adjusting the rubric as you go to maintain grading consistency across submissions. In large courses with multiple instructors or TAs,Gradescope is highly effective at managing grading logistics and coordinating the efforts of multiple graders. Gradescope is also integrated with Canvas, which allows you to sync your roster and to push grades from Gradescope to the Canvas Gradebook.

In addition, Gradescope now offers online assignments. Similar in concept to Canvas Quizzes, these assignments are built question by question, and students can submit them online to be graded. For a detailed comparison of Canvas Quizzes and Gradescope online assignments, please see the blog post A Tale of Two Quizzing Tools.
