By default, students enrolled in a Canvas course are able to view a grade distribution graph (GDG) for an assignment once five or more students have submitted that assignment. The GDG, which shows mean, high, and low scores for the assignment, is displayed when the student clicks on the graph icon in the course grade center.

If you do not wish this information to be available to students, you can disable this feature at the course level. To do so, follow these steps.

  1. Go to Settings in the Canvas course navigation menu and select the Course Details tab.
  2. Check the box next to Hide grade distribution graphs from students.
  3. Click the maroon Update Course Details button to save your changes.
